Our normal Thursday night meeting description is below, but one of our members let me know that knitted and crocheted chemo caps are especially needed during this Covid 19 outbreak. If you are interested in making caps, please post a comment under our discussions page for more information. We have posted simple knit and crochet patterns for the caps there, but feel free to use your own chemo cap pattern. Maybe helping others will help us get through this difficult time. Stay safe everyone. Hope to see you all when we can meet again. Knitting, crocheting and coffee mix well together. So bring your yarn and come join us at the Starbucks in the Kohl's shopping center at Oxford Valley Rd. and Big Oak Rd. Enjoy coffee and company, work on your latest yarn project, or browse knitting/crochet catalogs for ideas. Look for our centerpiece – a basket of yarn with pink knitting needles. You will see our centerpiece at each meeting, so our group will be easy to find. If you have always wanted to learn how to knit, you are in luck! Beginners are welcome. I have successfully taught over a dozen people how to knit and would be happy to teach you. At each meeting, a beginner’s kit is available for $10 with everything you need to get started (yarn, needles & point protectors). All you need to do is pay for the supplies when you come to your first meeting. Unfortunately, I am terrible at crochet, so I can’t teach you how to do that!
Advanced knitters and crocheters are very welcome! It's always great to have someone there to help explain a pattern or give advice on a yarn technique. Plus you always seem to have really awesome projects to show off!
Hope to see you soon!
Note: Starbucks is kind enough to let us use their space. Please consider supporting their store by purchasing food or drink from Starbucks when you attend a meeting.
