Purpose: providing a space to allow individuals who love crafting/stitching to come together and do what they love - stitch, sew, knit, crochet or whatever it is you love to craft. Who should join: Anyone who wants to help stitch together a community. We are group open to anyone. We started this group because all of the local guilds meet during the week when most people are working and others have restrictions (i.e. hosting a stitch night but only cross-stitch and not knitting). We wanted a place where everyone would be welcome and come together for all things crafts. We also wanted a space that was inviting and didn't involve requirements to purchase items to attend.
This will the the kickoff "Stitching Together Community" event with plans to host the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. We will open the doors at 6pm where people can come and go as they please. Come for an hour of community or three. This will be an alcohol free event. Everyone is welcome and we only ask that you not bring small children unless they will be crafting alongside you. Everyone is asked to bring their project(s) and any supplies you will need. Nothing will be sold at this event. Our hope is to grow this group into a regular activity for everyone. We will have a donation box - not to raise any money - however we would like to offer a donation to the community center who is providing the space at no cost to the group. Since we don't know exactly how many people are interested in an event like this, we are capping RSVP's at 50 for the first gathering.
