# SESSION: Configuration and feature management using Azure App Configuration in an Event-Driven Microservices architecture.

In this session, I will demonstrate a production-grade implementation of a well-known integration design pattern called “external configuration store” using a brand new service in Microsoft Azure called Azure App Configuration. Application configuration management should be delegated to specialized services for the same reason we delegate authentication and authorization.

You will learn the importance of storing configuration information outside the application that needs it. The twelve-factor requires a strict separation of config from code. You should be able to build once and deploy many times to different environments by just changing the configuration.
Why is it critical to choose the type of configuration store? What is the importance of making it Event-driven? Importance of audit-ability? and the importance of making it technology-agnostic. Azure App Configuration provides a service to centrally manage application configuration and feature flags. This service complements Azure Key Vault.
