Flutter Workshop for mobile apps

18:00 - Doors open, mingle and networking
18:30 - Explore app development with Flutter by William Lundin
Abstract:
Flutter is fairly new in the game of app development, having been released in May 2017, with its main competitor being react native. Both the two frameworks push the same agenda, that is, being able to develop apps in one codebase that targets both the two largest platforms of today, Android and IOS. Both the frameworks are really good, but Flutter has gotten a lot of attention lately, and have sparked a big audience for app developers. Flutter was created by Google, one of the factors to it’s big attraction on the market, but has a strong developer team behind it, something that react native lacks, which means that react native is prone to less updates, and relies on the open source community to push updates. Something that is purely taken care of by Google and its team on the Flutter side.
I argue that Flutter is better than react native, being easier to learn, better constructed, and more fun to program in, and I will show some nets and quirks that makes Flutter unique. The interested mind can pre study and look around on the official Flutter site, https://flutter.dev/.
Flutter is an exceptional powerful tool when it comes to developing apps. Not only can you target the two most common platforms (Android & IOS) in one codebase, which cuts down development time, but you are also able to express your ideas in the most incredible way when it comes to the graphical interface of your app. To showcase this, there will be a code design session to prototype the UI of the Youtube app under one hour.
With this, you will get started developing apps in Flutter in the most convenient way, and learn an external skill outside of regular, functional programming.
Let’s dive into some fun development!
