Get started with Serverless Jenkins X on AWS EKS

Details
Get started with Serverless Jenkins X on AWS EKS
In this session, we will take a look at the version of Jenkins X using Tekton, to give you an idea of how the general development, build, test, deploy flow looks like with Jenkins X, but also how does it feel to ship your code to production using a product coming from the Jenkins community that has very little Jenkins in it. AWS EKS is one of the managed Kubernetes solutions supported by Jenkins X and we will use it during the demos in this session.
Some Kubernetes knowledge is useful for attending this session. If participants find it useful, we can do a short and very high-level introduction on Kubernetes at the beginning of this session.
Presenter: Alex Chirițescu, Senior DevOps Consultant at Eficode Praqma
Topics covered:
- Create an EKS cluster with the jx CLI (prepared in advance, how-to steps presented)
- Install Jenkins X on the EKS cluster (prepared in advance, how-to steps presented)
- Deploy a simple application on the cluster (live demo)
- Implement simple changes on the application and take it through the whole flow to Production (live demo)
17:30 (CEST) - Stream opens and we start shortly after
Duration: about 2 hours
The session is structured as a presentation and we will have time for questions during and at the end. We will also have some time at the end for open discussions.
Note: This event is hosted online using Zoom and the link will be shown on this page once you click Attend.
Note2: This meetup will be recorded and link to the recording will be made available here on this page.
Note3: Seems that Zoom doesn't allow joining through the web client without a Zoom account (you can create a free one if you want). The only way to join without a Zoom account is through the installed Zoom clients.
