May 2019 Stockholm RegTech Meetup - Regulatory Reporting

Details
Spring is in the air and summer is fast approaching. But before we mentally go on vacation you all need to come and listen to our guest speaker, based in London, Randeep Singh Buttar, Head of Data Change & Strategy, Global Risk & Finance at HSBC and Åke Freij, founder of Freij Insight and Affiliate Research Fellow, House of Innovation, Stockholm School of Economics.
Randeep will be talking about one of the more hands on, and for financial institutions crucial parts of their operations, Regulatory Reporting:
"Regulators are applying increasing amounts of scrutiny to Financial Services Institutions for compliance against both principles and rules based regulations. This means that FSIs need to be able to source regulatory data in a way that allows them to report at much more granular level. The journey of regulatory data must be clearly understood by senior managers. In addition, data quality must be of a high level. We will explore how regulations such as BCBS 239 has laid down the foundation for this and how RegTech (Regulatory Technology) plays a very important role in addressing related issues such as regulator divergence and regulatory fragmentation."
Åke will present some insight from his on-going research where 600 RegTech firms are analyzed:
"The starting point is the capabilities needed for “the future of regulatory management”. Special focus is directed to support for reporting capabilities, and which technologies are underlying the solutions offered. Also, the specific regulations covered are reviewed."
Stig Johansson will join us for the panel following the two presentations to give his insight.-
As usual, the doors will open at 17:00, we will start the program at 17:30, lasting for about one hour including a panel discussion where you as the audience can interact with the speakers around the evenings topic. After the open discussion there will be mingel and this time we are happy to have Acando as our sponsor and they will provide snacks, drinks and some light finger food at the event.
