About us
This is a meeting place and discussion group for folk living in Stockholm who are interested in trying to live a good life using modern Stoic philosophy. We will focus one aspect of Stoic thought and practice each meetup, and discuss it together.
ABOUT STOICISM
The Stoics used various practical techniques for vastly reducing negative emotions, many of which have been adopted into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, they also believed in cultivating good character in the form of four virtues: wisdom, courage, justice and restraint.

ALL ARE WELCOME
Anyone interested in discussing Stoicism is welcome, even better if you've already done some reading about it and have tried to apply it in some small way to your own life.
We have recently founded a new Stoic association: Stoiska föreningen of Sweden due to growing interest in Stoicism and a need to organize for better activities.
Our aims are:
• Continue producing talks and presentations on Stoicism
• Build a forum for discussion and philosophical practice
• Support translations of philosophical texts into Swedish
Membership advantages:
• Participate actively in member-exclusive presentations and discussions (we aim to host around 8 presentations per year)
• Receive access to presentation materials (once our website is live)
• Help shape future activities and themes as the association grows
Membership fee:
• 50 SEK per year. All fees will go back to members through activities. Venue rental and materials can be significant (e.g. 1000sek/year for the Meetup group, 500sek/time for the rental of the presentation space) and your support is sincerely appreciated.
Not ready to join yet?
• You’re always welcome to our open mingles, which remain open to anyone interested in Stoicism.
