International Picnic 4 Degrowth - In collaboration with the Vegetarian Corner

Hello dear sustainable friends!

The summer is finally approaching and it is time to gather again and celebrate with a picnic, our very first! And what a very special picnic it is!

The 3rd of June is in fact the "International Degrowth Picnic Day" (Nerväxt, in Swedish)!

What is this "Degrowth" about?

"Degrowth" is a social, economic and political movement promoting an alternative development model for our society. Instead of a "growth" based economy (GDP increment, more consumption, more waste, more speed), the movement advocates an economy where we consume just enough and do our best not to deplete our planet resources like we are currently doing.
Degrowth promotes sharing versus private ownership, collaboration versus fierce competition, being content versus wanting more. For a better life for everyone!

Now, about the picnic:

The event will be held in collaboration with the friends of the Vegetarian Meetup, hence we kindly request you to do your best and not bring any meat (animal products such as cheese, eggs, and honey are ok!).
Each participant brings her/his own food, sharing is naturally possible if so you wish :)
There might be some grills for roasting the vegetables, keep an eye on the event description and on the comments for updates!

The core idea of the picnic is to limit our impact to the minimum. Here are some guidelines:

• favor vegetarian or vegan food
• bring your own dishes, plates, glasses and towels. This is part of the game, let's do our best not to produce waste!
• cook for a maximum of 1.5 or 2 persons to limit wasted food
• cook a dish with local ingredients (kinda hard since the season hasn't kicked in yet, but let's try our best :D )

Extra fun:

• Bring a recipe to share!
• Bring some entertainment (cards, kites, a ball, some musical instruments. Be creative!)

Time and location
I will repeat the time/date coordinates here as well, to be sure! We meet at 13.00 at the bus stop Haga södra. Keep an eye on the event, we will provide a way to find the group if you come late, but the pin placement is now about right, we will be in the southern part of the park! :)

Try to join the attendance list of only one of the meetups ("Stockholm Sustainability meetup" or "The Vegetarian Corner") so we can reliably estimate the amount of participants.
