Registration for next week's VR meetup is now open. If you want to join make sure to grab a seat asap since they tend to disappear quickly.
Sweco is hosting the event and is welcoming everyone. We'll have Fast Travel Games sponsoring and one of their 3D artists Kim Aava will be presenting "Apex Construct behind the scenes: Stylization in Realism" (They are releasing their first title, the highly anticipated Apex Construct, the upcoming week on PSVR (and on Steam in march)). Tomas Danko from Windfall Studios will join and talk about "Narrative vs Immersion Through a VR Perspective". Huiting Wang from Resolution games will share how they work with user research in VR. Finally Harri from Nordic VR startup is joining us all the way from Finland to sponsor the event and say a few words about their awesome startup program, that just opened up the registration for their 2nd batch, check it out: http://nordicvrstartups.com/index.php/program/
A pretty damn amazing line-up! As usual we'll have some food, drinks and demos. If you have anything you want to demo, do give us a heads up. We really appreciate any type of demo so don't be shy.
If you don't think you can make it, please PLEASE cancel latest by Friday this week since we won't be able to register any new attendees after that (due to registration demands for the venue).
Big thanks to our awesome sponsors Sweco, Nordic VR startups, and FTG! Speaking of FTG, Fast Travel Games is a VR games studio focused on high quality VR games you want to come back to, again and again. The Stockholm, Sweden-based company was founded in 2016 by industry leading veterans with a proven history of creating the world's most immensely popular games the likes of Angry Birds 2, Mirror's Edge and the Battlefield series as leaders at global games studios Rovio, EA, DICE and elsewhere. The studio is launching their debut game Apex Construct on February 20th for Playstation VR, with PC versions for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows MR HMDs coming March 20th.
Btw, Microsoft reached out and asked if there's any VR devs in the meetup group who wants a devkit. Sign up on aka.ms/iwantmr and mention "Stockholm VR" in the description and they promised to review it faster (no, we're not getting paid for this - but happy to share since we ourself are about our devkit). Cheers,
Jakob & Daniel
