West Coast Swing Extravaganza

We’re mixing it up and having a very special guest come teach West Coast Swing this Friday, August 5th, at Escape Bar and Grill (9004 NE Sandy Blvd) You will learn the basics of West Coast Swing and be dancing in no time. No dance experience or partner necessary.

Music starts at 7:00. Be here by 7:15 to learn a beginner line dance “Suckers” taught by Emerson, following that we will have the WCS lesson taught by Joy Davina. Joy is such an amazing teacher, besides teaching at Uptown Ballroom Dance, she gives private lessons and is a WCS competitor and performer. You don’t want to miss this!! The rest of the night will be filled with partner dances including west coast swing, waltz, country two-step, and some line dancing. Our lessons and social dance time is for beginners and is two-left-feet friendly.

Check out our website at stomptown.org for some demo videos of our various dance styles and line dance lessons. Stomptown, and Escape Bar and Grill, require Covid vaccines. Please bring proof of your vaccination and your ID to show the bartender. Masks are not required, but it's recommended that folks have a mask on hand so if you get invited to dance with someone who prefers masking you are ready to go with them.

There is no cover fee at Escape; we do recommend a $10-15 donation which supports Stomptown's endeavors in our rented dance floors, the Pride parade, and other events. There is a donation jar and Venmo information by the DJ's table.

Escape Bar is one level with a few surface changes on the floor. Lighting is low. There are two single-stall bathrooms labeled as "sit" and "sit or stand." There is a small parking lot with one accessible parking spot. Do not park in the convenience store spots or the Boot Barn lot across the road- both will tow. There is parking on Sandy and the residential roads on both sides.
