What we're about
We welcome active writers of book-length and short fiction who are dedicated to growing as writers in a non-threatening yet challenging environment. We gather twice a month to share successes and rejections, critique one another's work, and celebrate the joys of writing.
The group leader, Trina Allen, is a longtime writer and the former fiction editor of Pig and a Poke online literary magazine. She develops educational tests by day to support her writing habit.
This in-person group critiques all genres of fiction. The group is not an open-mic format - critiques are prepared before the meetings. Pieces up to 10 pages are submitted via Dropbox at least one week prior to meeting. Trina will send a message one week prior to each meetup stating which three pieces to critique. The pieces will be chosen by first posted and on a rotating basis so everyone has a chance to submit. Please be able to commit to attending each meeting, critiquing the three pieces ahead of the meeting, and submitting regularly.
Please send Trina a message to add you to our shared Dropbox folder once you have RSVPed to a critique session.
