Join us on 20 November for our Strategy Execution & Leadership Meetup with Mark Drechsler. Mark is responsible for Service Delivery & Innovation at Flinders University and will share what he discovered about leading teams through large scale change.
Mark has a track record of leading change and innovation in the Australian education sector. At Flinders University, he led multiple teams through a major organisational restructure of professional services and was responsible for the creation of Flinders Connect, a multi-channel, whole-of-University student support centre.
When Mark was responsible for the redesign of physical and virtual student administrative support services across the University, he had to determine how to lead such a significant change in an increasingly complex environment. Complexity theory helped with consolidating seven customer-facing teams and around a hundred people, but creating an environment where it is safe to fail, was essential. Focusing less on defining a scope, and more on building relationships based on trust, open communication and genuine collaboration.
If you want to know about the leadership styles and results of this approach, you will have to join us for breakfast at SAHMRI with Mark Drechsler on 20 November!
