What we're about

Love mountains and waterfalls and stumbling along to the trail to find them? Yeah, me too! I've been hiking the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia for over 8 years now and am ready to share my knowledge with you. We'll do a lot of challenging hikes like Grandfather or Mitchell and other times dial it back a little and see the waterfalls of Dupont or even some easy hikes on the Greensboro Watershed Trails. We'll do anything from spur of the moment hikes to well planned (or at least semi-planned) backpacking trips in Panthertown Valley. I will try to show you things that you might miss on the trail if you went by yourself. We will hang out on cliff edges, walk behind waterfalls and generally have a great adventure. I like to leave early for hikes to beat the mogrel hordes that descend upon the mountains. I hope you will rise early with me and I promise it will be worth your time! I will keep any group together and wait for people at trail intersections EXCEPT for exploratory hikes. Exploratory means, I've never been there. There is great potential for getting lost on an exploratory hike, having the hike go longer than expected and you will need to be able to keep up. Don't worry, I haven't lost anyone yet! Which leads me to the rules...

1) No whining
2) No dying

Everything else I make up as I go along :)

My trail name is "Barefoot" Bob and as such I do hike mostly barefoot and you are welcome to try it with me and maybe you too will start to hate shoes as much as I do. But DO bring your shoes along as even I take my shoes with me for when my feet have had enough!

My driving radius is generally within 4 hours of Greensboro but I have been known to go a little farther for a good camping trip :)

Come have an adventure with me!

Yours,
"Barefoot" Bob
