What we're about

** Due to Safety Concerns, Meetings Will Be Canceled Until They Can Be Safely Held **

Although businesses are open, They are limited to only 5 people per table. We feel that it is best to wait to hold meetings until we can return to our usual numbers safely. Until then, keep writing and we will see you then!

Are you looking for a little feedback on your writing?

Those close to us don't always offer the most productive criticism of our writing or sometimes we are so close to a project that we can't see it's flaws. This is when a critique group can help. Every Monday, join us to read and discuss writing with the spirit of making it stronger.

You do not have to be a published writer to join us. No matter where you are in your writing career we welcome anyone who is willing to read other people's writing and offer constructive criticism on how authors can improve their work. You do not have to bring a piece of writing to participate.

We all must follow the cardinal rules, which state:

• Be nice, but constructive!

• Bring a pen.

• Remember that writing is a learning process.

If you would like to share your writing, you’re welcome to bring a submission from any genre.

Please follow the submission guidelines:

• Please double-space your work so it is readable and easier to comment on.

• Number your pages

• Bring no more than 1,500 words.

• Bring enough copies for everyone.

If your submission is not the beginning of a story, please include a few sentences to help your reader find their feet when reading your submission. Submissions that do not meet the guidelines may not be critiqued, especially if you do not bring enough copies.

When and Where:

Critiquing will begin at 5:30 P.M.

Denny’s on Lake Mead and Tenaya

7341 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89128

Denny’s is very good to us, so we need to be good to them! Come hungry or grab a cup of coffee and ready to critique!

Our Process:

We all spend 10 minutes reading the same submission. We write on the copies we are given to make corrections and notes. We then discuss it as a group for 10 minutes. Times may vary depending on the number of submissions.

We do not allow/encourage reading pieces aloud. It doesn't give the writer a clear interpretation of their work and it's harder for others to critique.

Ready to join us? All you have to do is RSVP!

Please don't feel intimidated. Remember we all are writers at various stages in our careers. We were all new once too and we are all trying to strengthen our craft.

Please remember to RSVP so everyone else will know how many copies to bring. If you cannot attend please cancle your RSVP so no one wastes money on a copy.
