Beginner's Backpacking Overnighter

This is an easy backpacking adventure to Little Jimmy in the San Gabriel Mountains. Call it a gear test or a good enough reason to go out and spend the night in the forest. It's a great beginner backpacker OR come down just for a day hike have lunch with us and go back down to your cuddly bed... if that's what you're into;)

PS: This event is for those who don't mind "a little" noise...or you can set up far enough to get some sleep after you've had enough of us:)

I love this spot because you can carry as much as you like, it's only 2.5 miles up, appx. 1200ft gain from the parking lot. There's beautiful shade and a water spring 1/4 mile from the campground for cooking or bring water filter for drinking.

There's pit toilets and plenty of firewood for a great campfire. Bring your marshmallows! and beer!:) The campground is at 7500ft so it can get chilly, bring warm gear for the night.

Upon arrival, we will set up camp, and continue hiking to Islip Peak another 2 miles up round trip from the campground(this part not much shade). Or feel free to chill at the campground...

We will pack up Sunday morning 8ish AM, hike back down.

***You'll need a $5 ADVENTURE PASS to park. DOG FRIENDLY:) but bring leash.
