What we're about

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious community that meets monthly to hear great talks, sing along with awesome pop songs, make connections, eat cake and celebrate life. Think TED talks and group karaoke, or all the best bits of church, with no religion or dogma, and a lot more Queen!

We are radically inclusive, and welcome all who welcome all, regardless of faith.

Assemblies are free to attend with an optional donation at the end.

There are currently around 50 individual Assemblies meeting all over the world, with the largest being in London (the original!) and Los Angeles.

We are an established community in Newcastle, with around 40 people attending monthly Assemblies. Please check out our Facebook page to see our past events! https://www.facebook.com/SundayAssemblyNewcastle

We are run by a small team of volunteers, and are not for profit. We have no doctrine, no set texts, and no deity. We don't do religion or supernatural, but we also won’t tell you you’re wrong if you do.

Our motto: live better, help often, wonder more.

LIVE BETTER: We aim to provide inspiring, thought-provoking and practical ideas that help people to live the lives they want to lead and be the people they want to be.

HELP OFTEN: Assemblies are communities of action, building lives of purpose, encouraging us all to help anyone who needs it to support each other.

WONDER MORE: Hearing talks, singing as one, listening to readings and even playing games helps us to connect with each other and the awesome world we live in.

In addition to monthly assemblies, this Meetup group will be for social events, community projects and other fun activities related to Sunday Assembly.
