Help Often: Henderson Park Invasive Plant Removal

Details
Our Help Often project this month is with the Henderson Park Native Plant and Wildlife Walk. We’ll be removing invasive species such as English ivy, Japanese honeysuckle and Chinese privet. This will make room for the addition of native plants that support local wildlife.
This is the project’s regular workday so we’ll be working with the Master Gardeners and community volunteers. Expect to see lots of progress since we were there last year.
We will meet at Henderson Park, 2803 Henderson Rd., Tucker, GA at 9am. A large portion of our work will be on a wheelchair accessible paved trail. Bring drinking water, and wear clothes that can get dirty with close-toed shoes. Consider bringing work gloves, a hat, sunscreen or bug spray. Bring a shovel or trowel if you have one. Tools will be available for those that don’t have them. This is a family-friendly event.
Going out afterwards for lunch is a possibility for those that have time.
ONE QUICK BUT IMPORTANT NOTE: If you bring a dog, she must be on a leash at ALL times and feces must be cleaned up no matter where your dog "does her business". Even if your dog "goes" off the trail, the feces must be bagged and thrown away in a trash can. We want a clean, beautiful park for everyone.
