Read The Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in joining Supermoms of the South!

Before you join, please take a moment to read these guidelines. We want to have active moms in this group - if this group sounds right for you, we'd love to meet you!

  • New Members *must* attend a public event before they are permitted in a member's home. This is for the safety of our mothers and children. Should you host an event in the future, the same courtesy will be given. Many public events are offered each month, including our New Member Meet & Greet.

  • Fill out all the profile questions. Before we can approve you, you will need to add a profile picture of yourself and/or your children. This is a private group, and having pictures posted helps current members identify you at a public event.

  • We'd love to hear about you. We offer the Welcome Mat thread on our message board, for you to say a quick hello, or you can start a new topic to tell us about yourself. We love meeting new friends!

  • Check the calendar often - if you would like to see an event added or wish to host one, please message one of the organizers!

Hosting
You are not required to host play dates. But it is an excellent way to get to know other moms in the group. As stated, if hosting in your home, we will not let any members attend until we have first met them in public. You can decide on the date / time / and the number of moms you'd like to invite. If you are interested in hosting a play date, or if you have an idea for the monthly calendar, please contact an organizer.

Dues
Membership cost $25.00 to join,.The dues are collected to cover the cost of our Meetup site and three holiday celebrations (Easter, Halloween, & Christmas). Dues are not refundable for any reason...including leaving the group.

New members are given 30 days to try out the group before paying dues. Dues may be paid online via our Meetup site and clicking on Pay Dues, or via cash or check written to Christen Cline . If you have any questions about dues, contact an organizer. Failure to pay dues will result in automatic removal from the group. If you are unable to pay dues but wish to remain in the group, please contact an organizer to discuss it.

RSVP
Please be considerate of your friends and fellow members! We ask that you only RSVP for a home event if you fully intend to be present. Members that host a play date are kind enough to have us in their homes, so please keep your RSVP updated. If you can't attend, please update your RSVP 24 hours before the event so others waiting can make plans to attend. This will help the host who is preparing their home for guests to provide the appropriate amount of snack and craft materials.

No Shows and last minute cancels (less than 24 hour notice) affect other members and are unacceptable. Members will be removed from the group after 3 attendance No Shows or last minute cancels (including public and private events).

Waiting Lists
If a play date is "full", you can join the "waiting list". A spot may open up for you to attend. Just be sure to check the calendar regularly for these updates or review your email settings to receive updates.

Safety Guidelines
The safety of our children is of the utmost importance. We abide by the "Mom Code" at all events; that means watching out for your children and and other members' children to keep everyone safe.

We understand that sometimes children can play a bit rough with each other, not intending to harm, but accidents do happen.

If there is a child who is bullying or is trying to cause intentional harm to other children, the following actions will be taken:
1. Discussion between organizer and parent / warning given,
2. A second offense by the same child will result in disciplinary probation, meaning that the parent and child will be unable to attend our meet-up activities for two weeks,
3. A third offense by the same child will result in parent and child removal from our group.

Let's make sure we're all paying close attention so all of the children can enjoy themselves and be safe at every event.

Home Play Date Guidelines
Home play dates are reserved for moms of babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers only. If your child has completed 1st grade and / or above, they cannot attend a play date at someone's home. This, again, is for safety reasons. Our little children have limited space to play within the confines of a home or a back yard, and older children tend to be more energetic and play rougher. Please keep this in mind when signing up for play dates.
