About us
There hasn't been a general meet up group just for going out in Stroud - until now! This is for people want to socialise in Stroud and the surrounding areas and meet others from this lovely part of the world. Nights out include going for drinks, comedy evenings, seeing live music and even some wildlife watching. Days out include walks, hikes and festivals. If you have any suggestions please let me know. The aim is to have fun and make new friends and not have to travel too far!
Please note that you take part in any activity at your own risk. If you take part in something like a hike please ensure you are properly prepared with the correct equipment and a suitable level of fitness.

Penny Gaff with Simon Munnery
The Goods Shed, Station Approach, Gloucestershire, GBThe Pennygaff is such a fun evening. Several acts - a bit of poetry, comedy…all hilarious! As always, new members are warmly welcomed. I’ll coordinate things on the evening and make sure the group is easy to find. See you there!

ROLL UP! ROLL UP! IT'S MR FLUFFYPUNK'S PENNY GAFF!Time for another of the Stroud's favourite increasingly-irregular Alternative Cabaret.
Comedy! Poetry! Music! Theatre! Magic! Weird Shit!
This time:
SIMON MUNNERY
The welcome return of the legendary dadaist oddball comedic genius, idiot experimentalist and cardboard-props king, on tour with his latest hour.
Simon says:
'Simon Munnery ("Quite simply, one of the comedians in the country" - The Times) returns to Stroud to try and make amends for last time. Lock up your goats. Expect the usual unusual melange of jokes, stories, poetry, aphorisms and observations'.
plus:
SPINSTA:
Raw harmony feminist folksong from deep in the Cinderbrook Delta. Amy and Jes, 'centering the female experience' from all sorts of angles with soaring voices and occasional guitar.
plus
DARREN HOSKINS:
"Crankie" storytelling infused with circus, stand-up and bad magic from the Forest of Dean's favourite middle-aged gay farmer, shepherd, and ex-escapologist.
50 years ago Darren was the kind of child who enjoyed playing with the box more than the gift inside it; now he has complete access to the cardboard recycling bin in the car park round the back of the co-op.
plus, unavoidably,
JONNY FLUFFYPUNK: holding things together with string, gaffa tape, and wit.
Oh, there'll be a silly competiton, prizes, and you will have a good time.

Suzanne Vega at the Sub Rooms
Stroud Subscription Rooms, George Street,, Stroud, GL5 1AE, GBSuch a great singer-songwriter to be playing Stroud! The Sub Rooms website shows that there are only a few tickets left - understandably. I believe Twickets is a good website to look for second hand tickets for those who can't make it. This promises to be a great gig.
Details are here
