Yosemite Camping, 1-day backpacking to Snow Creek cabin/or 2 Shorter Hikes

Details

Yes, this is our good old Yosemite but it's not your average car camping at Yosemite! :) We do car camp at Upper Pines, BUT we want to do a day long backpacking to Half Dome foothills and stay overnight in Snow Creek cabin. Please sign up only if you want to go backpacking (please do not sign up if you want just to car-camp.)
-
So far my friend and I have only 4 free spots in the campsites he reserved, BUT if you are really willing to attend this event but see that all 4 spots taken, then do not hesitated to add yourself to the waitlist. We will update attendance closer to the start day, and high chances are there will be more spots available (a few campsites are reserved and our regular participants only preliminary singed up.) After we update our attendee list (a week or so before the event) I will contact everybody who singed up/waitlisted here to confirm participation. Please make sure you respond my messages.

The itinerary is preliminary so far because it depends on what weather conditions will be on the dates, and if the Snow Creek cabin opens by that time. So far the cabin is closed and rangers are not sure if it will open by our dates. I will update with the park 4-5 days before the trip. If the cabin is not available we can modify our plan and made 2 moderate to strenuous hikes on Sat and Sun (staying both nights at the campground.)
-
Make sure you have a pass to Yosemite (one per car.) The campsite cost share will depend on how many people attend - usually we do about $10-15 per night.
-
The event officially starts Friday 2pm, but you can arrive as early in the morning as you want - the campsites are reserved by my friend for the whole week. The reservation is until Dec 11, Mon, so if you feel like staying one more day - you can (paying the cost share for that extra day to the organizer), but I will close up the event and leave Sunday night.
Here is a list of basic camping (https://www.dropbox.com/s/xjn15tsy3ojfv0w/Camping%20Stuff%20List.pdf?dl=0) stuff you may need. I will message to those who's in with regard of backpacking stuff and tips.

This event description will be certainly updated closer to the date, so make sure to check on.
