A Little FUN!
Hi y'all! We are so happy you found our Meet Up group. We are The Arc of the Midlands and one of the oldest nonprofit advocacy organizations for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Please visit our website -- -- for more info about our services and programs. We have two major projects we would love to have volunteers help with -- Kick It Karate and Mixed Greens. Perhaps you can help with transportation, recruiting, follow up or something we haven't thought of. Let us know! Our karate program is on Saturday mornings and Mixed Greens is throughout the week and weekend. Want to have some FUN with our wonderful clients? Volunteering rewards you with such happy vibes! Message any of our organizers or email us at [masked].

What we're about

Carolina Companions is about making connections and building lasting friendships in the community. We are seeking individuals, families or small groups who can be paired with an adult with lifelong disabilities.

One of the challenges faced by adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is making friends. Often the relationships of people with disabilities like autism or Down Syndrome are limited to immediate family and caregivers. They feel lonely just like you would if you were in their shoes. They want to make new friends and have fun.

If you're interested in making a difference in someone's life, drop us a line and we will contact you about next steps.
