What we're about

Come connect with others who are going through separation or divorce as you are and can give you advice or support. Meet people who can relate to your sadness and anger. Let go of some of the emotional baggage. Learn about local resources and options. Get a different perspective. At our group you can talk to us about your frustrations instead of talking to your lawyer (which costs you $125-200 for a 30 minute conversation). That way you can use your lawyer for legal advice and negotiation instead of counselling support. Or get suggestions from the group on what to do next if you don't have a lawyer.

During each meeting we'll talk about our journey so far (some limited whining and complaining allowed), share tips, then I will lead a visualization exercise, and we will end with setting up a plan/goal/intention for the coming weeks. You are welcome if you are separated or have been divorced for less than five years.

About the group leader Brenda Kerr:

I obtained a Desk Order Divorce in 2018 by representing myself at Provincial Court (stressful) and negotiating a separation agreement with my ex-husband (not easy). I didn't pay for a lawyer, though I received free advice from four lawyers (through EAP and at the courthouses), and did a lot of research on the internet. For some people, paying for a lawyer is the best thing to do, but it will often cost $10-100,000 instead of $500. If you are willing to do some work yourself, you could spend less than $2000 for a lawyer that checks things over for you and files all the paperwork.

I have training and experience as a Life Coach and an Intuitive Healer. I will support you to get clear about what you want during this time of transition so that you can create a new path forward. I will help you let go of anger, frustration, sadness, guilt and fear, using coaching techniques, energy work, EFT, and empowering tools. If you'd like one-on-one (paid) help, contact me to set up an appointment.

About the meeting location:

For now we are meeting in my home office in the Clayton area of Surrey. Unfortunately parking is an issue. There is a couple of spots in my driveway and a couple on the dirt at the side of the road (watch for tree branches that have fallen). Or you can park one block away (on 188 St or the south side of 72nd Ave) and then walk north on 188th St to the last house. If you have a physical condition that makes walking difficult contact me prior to the meeting to make alternate arrangements. My friendly dog will greet people at the door but will be in a separate room during the meetup.
