Hello all and happy 2022.
This is the first ride out for 2022, so grab your helmet jump on your bike and come and join us for three cafes and a fuel stop ride out.
We will be starting at Rykas we will leave at 9:45, rider briefing at 9:30. If you joined the last ride of the year please bring your lovely green armband. Feel free to get there early for a chat and a bacon/sausage/vegan sandwich. I will be there from 9am.
From Rykas, we will head towards Whiteways on A & B roads, we will stop at Whitways for a tea/coffee and a chat. From there we will take some of the best roads in Surrey (272) and head to Loomies for our next stop. We will be able to fuel there too.
Loomies will be the lunch stop as there is a BP right next door for those that want something other than a bikes sandwich lol
We will then head back down the 272 and back to Rykas where the ride will end.
This ride is open to all. It would be great to see old and new faces for this ride so please put your name down.
Corner marker will be in use so please make sure you are aware of how this works. If this is your first ride don't worry we will take care of you and we will explain how the corner marker works. You can see a video here https://youtu.be/IWP1vbuTkNc
You will be able to ride at your own pace and there will be plenty of opportunities for relaxing and making good progress. Overtaking is part of bike riding as is filtering (not sure we will do much filtering due to the route)
We will be sticking to 20, 30, 40mph in and around villages and make progress on the open sections.
I look forward to seeing you all then.
I’m going to the MCN motorbike show at ExCel on the 11th February which is a Friday . I’ve been before on a Saturday and it was heaving with people so Friday would be better I think.
Not sure if it’s going to be a ride up their or drive I guess this will depend on the weather. But it will be a good day out . Plenty of bikes to try and perfect if your thinking about new gear (aren’t we always)
So let me know if your up for coming . Friday tickets are £19 pre ordered or £23 on the day

Hello all, I am thinking of organising a three-day trip to in June 2022 time when the weather is a pleasant 17/18 degrees.
We would leave on a Friday morning to get to the ring late afternoon. We would stop in a hotel overnight, not far from the ring.
We would ride the ring on Saturday and then return on a Sunday.
It's a fair trip in terms of miles and will take the day to get there, going via Eurotunnel, Folkestone to Calais, then into Germany where we can test the top speed of your machine on the Autobahn ;)
From Epsom to Folkstone is about 70 miles. Calais to Nurburgring about 280. So round trip, let's say 800 miles plus however many laps we will do.
If you want to see what it's all about, have a look at the two videos here. One is the lap record..................we are not that talented and the other a POV.

POV - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dag6Z_6JCRc
The cost of the Eurotunnel at this point is about £70 return. Hotel between £80-120 per night.
It's fair to say this is not for faint-hearted and will require some miles in the seat to make it work. I would say for this trip; you would need to be an experienced rider on a bike that is capable of the trip and the ring.
I appreciate that this is not for everyone due to riding time, the event, and the cost, so I am putting this out there to gauge interest before going any further.
Based on some back of the proverbial fag packet calculations, all-in costs wise I would expect £[masked], including fuel, food, accommodation and entrance to the ring.
If you are interested in going, please RSVP. There is NO commitment if you RSVP at this time only once we book. I will leave this open for two weeks, after which time and dependant on numbers, I may take this forward or not as the numbers dictate.
