Futuring and Sustainability (To Be Rescheduled!)

American Futurist, Scott Smith, founder and managing partner of Changeist, a futures research and consulting partnership based in the The Hague, is joining us for an evening to explore futuring and sustainability. He writes:

"Conversations about the impacts of climate change and true sustainability are no longer about the distant future, but about the urgent near future and present. Yet, current public narratives about climate disruption fall into a dangerous binary of dystopia or denial. How do groups and individuals go about mapping, understanding and engaging others with different futures in a way that provides agency, and illuminates other narratives? Den Haag-based critical futurist Scott Smith, founder of Changeist, will talk about "applied futuring,” and how this approach can apply to issues of sustainability and climate disruption. He’ll highlight tactical approaches covered in his upcoming book “How to Future: Leading and Sense-making in an Age of Hyperchange” and share learnings from projects with major governments and NGOs."
