As sustainable finance is gaining traction worldwide and domestically, it is becoming imperative to understand the implications for market regulation in the Swiss finance industry. Sustainability will be the next big issue in regulatory compliance. But while everyone is talking about sustainability commitments, what are the consequences when green promises turn out to be mere greenwashing? Who is responsible for the implementation of the climate goals and how can we hold companies accountable for their operations according to their own commitments?
Legal firm MME has decided to take an active role in driving progress on this issue and tackling the question of law enforcement in climate finance. The Swiss think tank foraus has been working on the topic of sustainable finance for two years in the context of its Sustainable FinTech project. The two hosts are inviting all those interested to a Meetup, to discuss regulatory developments and probe the topic from a legal perspective. This will be an opportunity to ask questions of experienced lawyers and exchange views with a broad audience from the finance industry, politics and other linked industries over an informal apéro.
