In this talk, Alan Murdie will talk about ways of selling material and generating income in relation to specialisms and niche interests and hobbies. In this talk he will look at methods for generating ideas and selling specialist writing to different markets and share will some essential points about copyright law and publishing contracts which all writers and authors need to know.
Alan Murdie, writes and broadcasts regularly on legal topics for many years and is the long-term editor of several leading handbooks and guides on aspects of the law as well as numerous articles for legal professional journals. He is also a consultant on intellectual property rights and publishing contracts for a variety of organisations. Over the years he has also helped a number of writers and editors successfully challenge false claims of infringement arising from their work.
Of broader and wider interest Alan has also published and broadcast extensively on the subject of ghosts and the paranormal and has acted as a consultant to writers, film-makers and creative professionals in the field. He has written five books on ghosts and the paranormal and contributed to a wide range of local, national and international publications including a long-running column for Fortean Times magazine.
