• What we'll do On Monday, March 12, 2018 Suwannee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association will hold its Monday, March 12th, 2018 meeting at the Suwannee River Water Management District Office 9225 CR 49, Live Oak, corner of US 90 and CR 49, 2 miles east of Live Oak, from 7-9 PM. Join members for dinner before the meeting at the Brown Lantern at 5:30PM Our program includes presentations from: FTA President, Leslie wheeler, David Waldrop, VP for Trails, and Panhandle Regional Representative , Adam Fryska. They will bring us up-to date on the latest happenings within the Florida Trail Association. Bring a friend! What we're about

Founded in 1993, the Suwannee Chapter of FTA serves Dixie, Columbia, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor Counties. Suwannee Chapter maintains FTA's Econfina River, Ellaville, and Big Oak Trails. The chapter meets on every second Monday (except-July and August) 7 p.m. at the Suwannee River Water Management District Office. There are a couple of work hikes each year led by the section leaders and trail masters along with volunteers to re-blaze, mow, lop excess vegetation and clear debris to keep the trails in good hiking condition. Hiking and paddling activities including field trips are led by activity leaders during the fall and winter months. Programs relevant to outdoors and FTA's mission are offered during the monthly meetings.
