Workshop - Introduction to Elm by Thibaut Gery (Please bring laptop)

Introduction to Elm, a functional language for front end development!

We'll do this as a workshop, so please bring your laptop :)

Creating your next front application using pure functions is not a dream anymore. Elm enables you to code without any side effect with immutability, monads…. This will allow you to test your code easily. Let’s discover this ecosystem, its strengths, and limits.

After a small language introduction, we will dive into the workshop: in a simple web application, we will code some functionality in code with the help of failing tests to guide us.

We will create a group of 3 or 4 to complete this challenge together.

Timeline:

5:45 PM - please try and make it to the venue before 6:00 PM, if you come post 6 and cannot enter the main building, call me on 0415224678 or simply message on this meetup group.

6:15-7:15- Thibaut's presentation and the workshop

7:15-7:30 - Q&A session and discussion on any interesting findings
