Utility-first CSS: What's all the rage?!
Simon Vrachliotis | @simonswiss (http://twitter.com/simonswiss)

With functional/atomic CSS, it's never love at first sight: it looks bizarre and challenges well established best practices. Let's look beyond the initial gut reaction and discover why more and more teams adopt this radically different way to think about CSS.

Simon is a Front-end engineer at http://selz.com . Life enthusiast, proud father of two. Surf, basketball, ukulele addict. Love learning, love teaching.

UX design lessons from fighting games
Xharmagne Carandang | @xharmagne (http://twitter.com/xharmagne)

Video games have lots to teach us in terms of user experience design. These lessons can come from game design and games' user interface designs; but what really stuck with me were the things I learned by actually playing a certain genre of games - fighting games. Here are some basic UX design principles I've learned through playing games like Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat at a competitive level; and practical applications of some these principles in real world projects.

Xharmagne is a software engineer with a passion for bridging the gap between people and technology via innovations in user experience design and implementation. Loves designing, building and debugging magic. Plays fighting games competitively.
