- I can draw and animate SVG, you can too!
Pavithra Kodmad (PK) | Twitter: @PKodmad | http://pavithrakodmad.com
In this talk PK will talk about how she got into SVG, what is SVG and why is it so awesome. She will talk about the basics of building an svg image by hand by explaining all the parts of an tag. She will also talk about animating SVG using css and GreenSock. Through this talk, she hopes to create an intuition of how SVG works to the audience and show that it does not take much to make cute art with it.
Pavithra (you can call her PK) works at Atlassian as a front end developer. She's a lifelong learner with a deep passion for frontend technologies. She's mostly into Javascript and not so good at CSS.
- You Might Not Need SCSS
Ben Buchanan | Twitter: @200okpublic | https://designops.expert
Preprocessors like SCSS have pushed native CSS forwards. While switching a UI library's theme API from SCSS vars to CSS custom properties, it became clear that SCSS was no longer a necessity... and yes, we still support IE11! While you may still get value from SCSS, it's time to review its place in the stack.
Ben started creating web pages in the nineties, while completing a degree in everything but I.T. He has created frontend systems for companies including News Ltd, Atlassian, Ansarada and Quantium. He probably thinks about markup too much. He can be found at @200okpublic and writes at weblog.200ok.com.au.
