SydCSS December - Wheel of Talks

It's the final SydCSS of the year and we're bringing back the Wheel of Talks™. Our brave presenters won't know what they'll be talking until they've spun the wheel, then they'll have 20 minutes to prepare something awesome for you.

🎟Tickets will be released on Thursday November 28th at 10am. 🎟

Doors open at 6:30pm with presentations starting at 7pm. There'll be some finger food and drinks provided.

Jack will be discussing 'The Dark Web' 😱

Sorry, not that kind of Dark Web — let's talk about dark mode! Is it just a gimmick, or a genuine way for us as developers to be empathetic towards our users? We will take a look at some different strategies for supporting dark mode, including the fantastic prefers-color-scheme media query, discuss some accessibility concerns, and dig into some cool tips and tricks together.

Jack is a front end developer and designer currently working on fixing superannuation in Australia at GROW Super. He is passionate about front-end architecture, design systems, performance, accessibility, and building great engineering teams. He's also a mad Pokemon fan and can cook a mean green curry.
