Sydney Bushwalks & Getaways

From St Leonards Station, we will head down Lane Cove Bushland Park and across to Woodforn Reserve. We will enter Warraroon Reserve and follow Tambourine Creek. This will lead us around to Tambourine Bay Park. From here we cross the playing fields of Saint Ignatius College and onto Burns Bay Reserve and Linley point.

From Linley Pt we follow the Lane Cove river through Blackman Park, Ventemans Reach and Yangoora Bushland towards Epping Road. After going under Epping road we follow the Harry Howard track alongside Stringybark creek to Artarmon Station. This section of the walk is predominantly in bushland and parks with sections that provide magnificent views of the Lane Cove river.

Start Location: 9:00am St Leonards Station - Outside turn-stiles

Terrain: Bush tracks and sealed pathways
Time: Around 5 hours

WHAT TO BRING. Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, picnic lunch and 2L water.

An approximately 10km walk (over 10,000 steps), at a brisk 5km/h, exploring the parks and foreshore around the CBD.

This week we will be walking to North Sydney through Wendy's Secret Garden.

From Stand K we will be walking to High Street with its views over Darling Harbour. We will continue on to Dawes Point walking through the Barangaroo Reserve and the Walsh Bay Wharves. We will then walk to The Bridge Stairs via the Glouchester Walk with its views over the Rocks.

After crossing the bridge to Kirribilli we will walk down through Wendy's Secret Garden (see photo) and then on to Blues Point via Lavender Bay and Mcmahons Point. We will then proceed to North Sydney via Blues Point Road.

This walk starts by taking the 9:30 ferry from Church Point to Tennis Court wharf on Scotland Island. The walk circumnavigates Scotland Island as well as climbs to the top of the island. We will return to Church Point from Bell wharf on the 12:05 ferry.

Table has been booked for 19 people. Those in the Going List will have a seat at the table. Those in the Wait List can still come on the walk but will need to make their own arrangements for lunch. You can ring the Waterfront Cafe and see if you can join the group by adding extra seats at the table.

After lunch we will follow the foreshore to Mona Vale.
