Sydney Bushwalks & Getaways

This walk starts at Tascott station and finishes at Koolewong station. On the way, we will stop at the Hieroglyphs. Lunch is at Spion Kop (pictured above).

This walk contains one steep ascent out of Tascott and one steep descent down to Koolewong. There is a small undulation on the way to Spion Kop.

The CCN service leaves Central Station on platform 8 at 7:48am, Strathfield at 8:01am, Epping at 8:13am, Hornsby at 8:28am and arrives at Tascott station at 9:13am. You need to be in the LAST carriage and exit via the REAR door at Tascott station.

Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, lunch and 2L of water.

Do not attend if you are experiencing any of the following (even if they are mild):
• Fever • Respiratory problems including: coughing, sore throat, or shortness of breath
• Other symptoms such as runny nose, headache, muscle or joint pains, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of sense of smell, altered sense of taste, loss of appetite and fatigue.

This urban walk starts from East Hills station and follows the Georges River to Dhurawal Bay. We follow Prospect Creek to end at Canley Vale station. On the way we will pass through the suburbs of Milperra, Georges Hall, and Lansdowne. We also cross Deepwater Park, Garrison Point, Lake Gillowarna reserve, Lansdowne Park, Parkes Reserve and Ada Street Reserve.

Start Location: East Hills Station.

Transport: 9:18am T8 Macarthur via Airport train leaves Central Station P23 and arrives at East Hills station at 9:48am. The walk starts at 10:00am - please go to the toilet beforehand or get an earlier train.

Distance: 18Km
Terrain: Flat - walking on footpaths, cycle ways and park land.

Camping, Walking and roast dinner weekend at Wheeny Creek campground, near East Kurrajong, in Wollemi National Park.

There are two sections within the campground, we will camp near the creek.
Access is easy 2wd, last 4 km is unsealed road but it is in very good condition.

There will be a $15 roast dinner option available, please reserve your spot on time. Keep an eye on the comments about it.

Walks will be announced closer to the date.

Wood barbecues (bring your own firewood)
Non-flush toilets. Bring toilet paper just in case it is not provided

Camping fees: National Parks charge only $6 booking fee for this campground. Sites are unmarked.
Nibbles:

It is always good to have pre dinner nibbles.Please bring something to share. Easy - chips, crackers, dip, cheese, nuts etc

To qualify for group bookings with airlines, we need to get at least 10 people to RSVP and pay their deposits. However, holiday will go ahead as planned if we can get at least 8 people to RSVP and pay their deposits.

HOLIDAY ITINERARY. We will fly from Sydney to Maroochydore and drive to Bundaberg on the first day. We will spend 2 nights at Bundaberg, Gladstone and Hervey Bay. We will have a very flexible itinerary, depending on what everyone would like to do each day. Eg. Optional Tours. Lady Musgrave Island, Lady Elliot Island, Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Whale Watching, Fraser Island, Town of 1770, Great Barrier Reef, Kroombit Tops National Park.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS. We will call into Tourist Information offices to get their recommendations. Lady Musgrave Island Experience day tour is one of the top tourist attractions in Queensland. Hervey Bay, Whale Watching, Fraser Island. Bundaberg. Lady Musgrave Island, Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Botanic Gardens, Hinkler Hall of Aviation. Gladstone. Maritime Museum, Botanic Gardens, Town of 1770 half day tour, Outer Great Barrier Reef tours, Kroombit Tops National Park.

ACCOMMODATION. We have booked very good quality motel accommodation for two nights at Bundaberg Spanish Motor Inn, Gladstone Central Studios and Hervey Bay Shelly Beach Motel.

HOLIDAY COST. $1450 twin share rooms. $1950 single motel rooms.

Cost includes return flights to Maroochydore, 6 nights good quality motel accommodation, 7 days minibus hire, fuel and vehicle insurance. Cost does not include Optional Tours and Museums at Hervey Bay, Bundaberg and Gladstone.

PAYMENT. Please pay Chris $550 deposit by 31st December. $900 and $1450 balance payments won't be due for payment until the 30th June.
