The 2nd Data Engineering Meetup is nearly upon us! Here is everything you need to know...

Event Details:
The event will be Hosted at Atlassian. Doors will be opening at 6pm and someone from Atlassian will be in the lobby of 363 George Street helping attendees get up to level 29.

We will kick off the event with some pizza and beer/soft drinks, once we have all settled in we will start the talks at 6:30pm.

Scaling behavioural analytics @ Atlassian
Atlassian is a company driven by data.
But as we have grown as a company so have our challenges around analytics.
Focusing on behavioural analytics, I'll be providing an overview of our current landscape and challenges as well as a view of where we are heading to enable analytics at scale.

Mike Robins - CTO, Snowflake Analytics

Open source analytics for the modern era
Mike will run through the options for running open source analytics including Snowplow on various cloud provides including AWS and GCP.
An outline of the interchangeable components will be discussed as well as the philosophies around data collection. We will also touch on
the engineering challenges around high availability, scaling and reliability of services on these platforms for collecting, processing and analysing data at scale.
