Monthly January Docker Meetup @ Atlassian

Welcome to Docker 2016!
Talk 1)
Production Docker in AWS @ Atlassian, By Ben Barclay
Atlassian runs an internal micro service platform for developers that has been running Docker containers in production for the last ~18 months. I'll be giving an overview of the platform, some of the challenges we have faced along the way, fun with running internal Docker registries, some comparisons to other solutions, and showing how we can run a Minecraft server whilst billing it to another division.
Bio: Ben is a "person" who has been on the PaaS team at Atlassian for a little under a year. He tends to work on the weird infrastructure around the PaaS that nobody else wants to deal with. He dislikes Java, likes Node and is so far impartial to Go. He is pathologically unable to take things seriously and is still amused that only 5 people turned up to his talk at the Ansible meetup.
Talk 2)
An overview of the steps and challenges in deploying ephemeral docker containers in a repeatable manner
The ephemeral nature of docker containers poses certain challenges to the containerization of 'legacy' applications
Using Word Press as an example, I will step through the process of deploying a word press site that persists across docker image builds.
Lachlan will show Wordpress deployed on Engines and the blueprinting process used to define its container. Attendees will be invited to define a blueprint, with the best to be awarded an Intel NUC.
