Let's accept it. As budding edupreneurs, we have all made mistakes... some small, some big and some catastrophic. The highway to success is littered with the wreckage of those who have failed. But if you learn from a failure then you really haven't lost. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb once famously said "I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work".
So far, at SydEduTech, We've shared and celebrated each others successes ... so it's about time we heed the lessons of failure too.
For the upcoming meetup, we have lined up an impressive list of edupreneurs who have all achieved phenomenal success with their EduTech startups .. seriously, these are the who's who of EduTech startups in Australia ... And we've asked them to share 1 story of failure from their careers and what they learnt from it. I promise you, what you'll learn in this 2 hour session will save you weeks if not months of going down the wrong path.
I am also extending the discussion about "stories of failure" to our Facebook Group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/SydEduTech/ ) and would like each of us to share that ONE story when we failed in our ventures with the rest of the community.
We will also have 2 minute shoutouts towards the end of the meetup for anyone wanting to announce any events, product launches or quick demos.
So make sure you mark your calendars and RSVP for the meetup ASAP (http://www.meetup.com/Sydney-Educational-Technology-SydEduTech-Meetup-Group). Like always there will be FREE beer and pizza.
The event kicks off at 6 PM on Monday 11th November (Please note the change in date from our usual schedule).
I hope to see you all at the meetup.
