Talks/Speakers;
- Ducas Francis (Technical Product Owner @ WooliesX) - Terraform @ WooliesX (Part 1)
At WooliesX we run many large-scale workloads on multiple cloud providers. After working with the provider-native APIs and deployment mechanisms, we decided it was time to try out Terraform. Fast forward about a year and we're glad we did! We want to tell you all about why we made this decision and the impact it's had on our engineering teams.
Ducas is a Principal Consultant with 15 years experience in the IT industry.
Over that time, Ducas has consulted for many organisations of different sizes and industries including e-commerce, insurance, banking and government. He has successfully delivered many projects for his clients from small internal systems to large online banking solutions, resulting in a great proficiency in the entire Microsoft technology stack and both the technical and leadership skills required by all aspects of software development lifecycle.
- Kelly Griffin (Field Engineer @ Rancher) - Dynamic Secrets with Kubernetes
Improving your security posture is paramount and centralisation of Secrets is great thanks to Hashicorp Vault. However these get ingested in Applications and stay there forever. What would happen if, for some reason, your so called “secret” that is now in an Application leaks or gets exposed.
Come and learn all about Dynamic Secrets and how, by leveraging Kubernetes and Hashicorp Vault – you can go one step further into protecting your Applications. It’s just another step in bolstering your security platform and reducing potential exposure.
We will cover why you need Dynamic Secrets, how they could be used and run through a quick demonstration of Dynamic Secrets in use.
