SLUG Oct meeting: Openstack virtualisation cluster

Hi everybody

As usual the last Friday of the month is our SydneyLinuxUserGroup meeting. Doors will open at 6pm with food provided by our Google hosts. and our talk will begin about 6:30.

If anybody has technical questions or something they would like to share you are welcome to do a short lightning talk/Q&A.

Our talk this month is from Manuel Sopena Ballesteros from the Garvan Institute who has been involved with using OpenStack for Genomic research and data processing.

** Building a Genomics Future with OpenStack **

This presentation will focus on the deployment challenges that any data driven organization may be facing in order to deploy environments for the data scientists or developers using Openstack as a PaaS, and provide criteria for a selected uses cases for data analytics and software deployment based on user’s needs rather than infrastructure availability.
