What we’re about

This Meetup is for adults who are in a long-term relationship with someone who has Asperger's Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

We are an organisation named ASPIA (Asperger Syndrome Partner Information Australia), a Sydney support group that has been providing information, validation and support to partners since 2003. We meet in Burwood (Sydney). Our website is www.aspia.org.au

Traditionally ASPIA held monthly support group meetings, but in February 2020 we changed to three monthly, on the second Saturday of February, May, August and November. Up until August 2023 our meetings had a strong psycho-educational focus, with regular professionals providing presentations, answering questions and facilitating discussions.

Commencing on Saturday 11 November 2023 we will meet for lunch only, without any formal content, and then will continue to have lunch meetups every three months, depending on interest. These will be announced on Meetup.

For those who would like to join a small group online for personal support and an opportunity to discuss specific topics, please email Carol Grigg at carol@carolgriggcounselling.com.au

This Meetup was created to help partners in Sydney connect with others who "get it", and are hoping to continue this with lunch get-togethers, and small groups online.

Please only request to join ASPIA if you are the non-ASD partner in a relationship with an adult on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). ASPIA is not a group for ASD adults.
