Why I went all in on Serverless on my project
In this talk I will take you on a journey of my decision making process in building out the backend for my browser-based Cantonese Translation extension. The project was initially built to help me learn Cantonese, but has grown to support a small community of users.
Angus is an Ex-AWS Software Engineer who worked on the AWS Managed Services product offering. It was there at AWS where he worked with a variety of AWS Serverless offerings and developed a passion for them.

I am a technologist at heart, starting from my youth as a HAM radio operator and growing into a profession. Over my career I have worked in many IT roles, from System Administrator to Mobile App Developer to IT Manager to Pre-Sales Consultant. Prior to DataStax, I worked at ServiceNow where I focused on IT Operations Management solutions. Outside of work I enjoy sailing in club racing and cruising. One day I hope to circumnavigate the planet.
