All test professionals and software development people are welcome — programmers, managers, designers, architects, technical support folk, documentors, project managers, etc.
Sydney Testers is about smarter software testing. We welcome any IT professional that performs or supports the practice of testing. This may be manual testers, automation specialists, performance, security, test managers, developers (acceptance testing and unit testing), devops crew, end users (UAT testing), and others...
We are a group of people with a focus to improve testing for Sydney. We operate under a shared set of values and principles. We seek to practice high-value testing rather than so-called "best practice".
Anyone is welcome to join this meetup group that wants to do any of the following:
• Stay fresh with the latest trends
• Network with testing professionals
• Learn new testing techniques and tools
Sydney Testers holds monthly networking meetups and talks.
This is a rolling notification. Sydney Testers is on the lookout for experienced and knowledgeable locally-based testers and test managers willing to talk about their work and spread their knowledge. It is an opportunity to spread informations, start interesting discussions and contribute to a vibrant testing community here in Sydney - along with providing visibility for the speaker in front of peers (we often get 40-50 people or more coming to events) and a way to make contacts. We will where possible film the talk and either provide a live stream or upload to the internet afterwards, along with promotion on our social media outlets.
We are open to speakers on any topics that would be of interest to our membership, be they manual testing, test automation, exploratory, test management, Devops, continuous integration, agile methodologies, communication skills, professional development, quality assurance or even just experiences in the field and what you learned! Let us know by either leaving a comment or filling in the details in the Google Form at https://goo.gl/forms/MHWdnkX0Xm3hj4K72
We arrange different types of free monthly events that we would welcome those wishing to speak at -
Main Speaker event, 45 min - 1 hour
Dual Speaker event. 30 min - 45 min
Quick Fire, multiple speakers on a shared topic, 15 mins max
Depending on the venue we are able to get, we should have access to a presentation screen and projector. Usually we also provide drinks and nibbles.
We would welcome a wide range of topic ideas and are open to first time speakers. Come and talk about your experiences, knowledge and views! Let's make the Sydney Testing community an even bigger success!
