September syd<video> Open Source in the Cloud, EGRE$$ and adding security last

Details

For those of us not at IBC and feeling left out fear not, your friends in video tech are still in Sydney working on everyones favourite streaming platforms and ready for another meetup in September.

Special thanks again to our sponsors who keep us fed and hydrated; and the social atmosphere we foster as a community of leading video tech experts. Tonight's presenters:

Jonas Birmé - VP R&D, Streaming Video @ Eyevinn (SWE)
Reducing the barrier to open source
There are a lot of great open source available out there but it requires an investment in time and infrastructure to just get started. Does it have to be that way? How to get started with open source without having to build, deploy and host it yourself. I will also give some examples of media use cases based on open source.

James Broberg Founder & CEO @ StreamShark
Egress optimisation at petabyte scale : the tales of woe

Stephen (max) Gillies - Manager, Sales Engineering @ Fastly
Just push the bits to the eyeballs- the challenges of introducing security to a workflow which was working just fine

Sponsorship for the evening will be provided by Brightcove
Stick around with Fastly for after event social drinks

A reminder: we have some openings for talks in 2024 and encourage anyone to come share your experience to supportive audience.

Looking forward to seeing you all there, please cancel your spot if you can no longer make it.
Sydney Video Technology is a volunteer group, as part of many groups independently run around the world. Tonight's hosts will be: Jeremy Brown, Adrian Britton and Grégoire Duché.
