Join us at the first Meetup for WiMLDS Sydney.
We will have two speakers on the night, a Q&A session and a quick introduction of WiMLDS Sydney and what we're hoping to share at future events.

Our first speaker will be Rinku Razdan, Founder and CEO of Connections.
Rinku is a first generation migrant who a few years ago re-started her life in Australia with a few dollars in hand and a small child. Without any family or support, she raised through the challenges of being marginalized as a woman, single parent and a first generation migrant.
Rinku is the founder and CEO of Connections – a multilingual, mobile app that uses data and api to connect migrants with their community, jobs and settlement information.
Rinku believes in driving tech for good. She combines her personal journey of a first generation migrant with professional achievement of being a technology consultant to build an optimum delivery model for Connections.
Rinku is an Agile champion having successfully implemented Agile transformations across various large financial institutions. Her strong knowledge and passion for Agile, Digital and Data Analytics is often utilized by senior management when drafting strategic roadmaps for market lead capability uplift. She is an active member of Agile Australia and maintains a close network of past and present speakers.
Rinku loves getting involved in Think-Tank sessions to encourage young Australians to initiate or deliver ideas using lean start-up.
Some of her delivery work includes large programs like ATM Refresh and Cardless Cash for Commbank, Online Home Lending platform for Westpac.
Rinku is a proud migrant who wishes to inspire many more like her, especially women, to drive equality and inclusion.
In her current role as a migrant ambassador and ‘tech nerd’, Rinku utilizes her experience in various senior management positions held across financial services to build business acumen and scalable technology solutions which drive global social impact.
In a half-hour presentation, Rinku will share her story including how she discovered the need for Connections, how she employed data science in its development and how she connected her use of data with core business goals.
Our second speaker is Monika Krzyzanowska, Data Scientist and Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young.
Originally from Poland, Monika decided to study abroad to gain insights into different cultures. She received her Bachelor of Business Management and Masters in Data Science at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics in Spain all while learning the language.
Monika has experience in end-to-end analytics projects in diverse sectors such as consumer goods, financial services, public services and aviation using statistical modelling, optimisation techniques and Machine Learning. These range from estimating airplane arrival times in the biggest European airports to predicting parliamentary election results for the government.
In her current role she works closely with clients applying her mix of business and technical skills to understand their context and problem. By successfully applying Machine Learning and Data Science techniques she delivers value by taking clients on the journey to understand it and thus incorporating it into their business.
Additionally, to her day-to-day work, Monika runs the Data Science Club at EY and loves inspiring females to get involved in this field. She wants to spread her passion for Data Science across all skill levels to support others to find new opportunities.
Monika will share her story and experience of how she combines her business and technical knowledge to create value and drive outcomes for businesses.
