INTERSTELLAR: the end of earth, will not be the end of us.

Synopsis ONE:

Amongst a group of explorers and scientists pushing the boundaries of space travel by journeying through a newly discovered wormhole is Cooper (McConaughey, with echoes of his role in 1997’s CONTACT).

He’s an idealistic everyman willing to leave behind his two young children to join a venture whose noble goals include saving humanity from its destructive excesses. Director Christopher Nolan creatively builds on the experimental cinematography he employed in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES – using anamorphic 35mm and an IMAX camera attached to a plane – with stunningly eye-boggling results.

Synopsis TWO:

Set some time in the not-too-distant future, Interstellar sees planet earth ravaged, and left in a state of uncertainty. Natural resources are diminishing and a series of crop famines has left millions struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table.

Cooper is a farmer who is feeling the full effects of the global crisis, as well as his own personal struggles as a widowed father of two. Realising that nothing within the solar system is capable of saving them, Cooper is alerted to a group of scientists who have uncovered a wormhole which could connect various regions of space time.

He is then selected to join a team of explorers who set out on an ambitious mission in the hope of solving the food crisis. As the team transcend previous limitations of human space travel, it soon becomes clear the adventure is going to be bigger than they could have ever anticipated.

INTERSTELLAR (2014) is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, the film features a team of space travelers who travel through a wormhole. Nolan combined his idea with an existing script by his brother Jonathan Nolan that was developed in 2007 for Paramount Pictures and producer Lynda Obst. Nolan is producing the film with Obst and Emma Thomas.

Warner Bros., who distributed Nolan's previous films, negotiated with Paramount, traditionally a rival studio, to have a financial stake in Interstellar. Legendary Pictures, which formerly partnered with Warner Bros., also sought a stake. The three studios co-financed the film, which is being produced under Nolan's label Syncopy and Lynda Obst Productions. The director also hired cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema since his previous collaborator Wally Pfister was busy working on Transcendence, his directorial debut.

Interstellar is being filmed with a combination of anamorphic 35mm and IMAX film photography. Filming took place in the last quarter of 2013 in locations in the province of Alberta, Canada, in southern Iceland, and in Los Angeles, California.
Interstellar is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2014. Paramount will distribute the film in the United States, and Warner Bros. will distribute the film in other territories.

Synopsis: When a wormhole (which hypothetically can connect widely-separated regions of spacetime) is newly discovered, a team of explorers and scientists embark on a voyage through it to transcend previous limitations on human space travel. The Hollywood Reporter said in addition to the official synopsis, "The plot is believed to involve time travel and alternate dimensions, but other details are being kept under wraps."

In April 2013, Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway were cast in the film's starring roles.[9] Director Christopher Nolan said he became interested in casting McConaughey after seeing him in an early cut of the 2012 film Mud.[10] He called McConaughey's character an everyman with whom "the audience could experience the story".

Other well-known actors eventually joined what would become "an all-star cast". Actor Irrfan Khan said he declined a role since he wanted to be in India for the releases of The Lunchbox and D-Day. Actor Matt Damon was cast in late August 2013 in a small role and filmed his scenes in Iceland.

Christopher Nolan cast Matthew McConaughey after seeing his performance in Mud (2012). It was an "ideal moment" for Nolan when they landed a Texas native, McConaughey, for the lead rol. Not only does Interstellar feature the most ever footage shot using 15/70mm IMAX cameras for a feature film, but due to the film industries rapid conversion to digital projection formats, Interstellar will potentially be the last feature film ever to be projected at IMAX using 15 perforation, 70mm movie film. IMAX film is ten times larger than normal film. Normal 35mm movie film is the size of a large stamp, while the IMAX film is the size of a postcard.
