Thanks to our sponsors Catapult (https://sa.catapult.org.uk/about-us), for sponsoring the event! Please feel free to say hello to them during the event.

This month we will be looking at a subject close to Brian's heart, location and mapping. Come along and learn about how location and mapping is being used and will be used in future and perhaps learn something new about the Earth we live on.

Position Navigation and Timing - Satellite Applications Innovation

Doug Watson is a consultant to the Catapult (https://sa.catapult.org.uk/about-us), with a remit to help stimulate SMEs to develop new products and services through the exploitation of space based technologies.

The European satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is open to anybody with an idea which utilises satellite navigation technology, be it for position, time, navigation or any other application. The Competition is run by The Satellite Applications Catapult - a new type of independent innovation and technology company, created to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. The Catapult is keen to encourage more applications and we are able to help to turn these ideas into commercial successes. The presentation will provide examples of companies that started as an idea and are now turning over £1 million.
