Confirmed developers

Crowsnest (http://www.crowsnest.io) has developed camera kits (currently using Foscams) that automatically capture and share photos to social media and cloud storage platforms based on motion detection. And come check out what Crowsnest hasn't yet released, but developed in partnership with IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/) and a proprietary software vendor. They've created a platform that allows systematic capture of demographic information based on facial recognition. There's no security concern because it doesn't capture your face, but it uses the same IFTTT triggers to provide demographic based, semi-custom advertising on digital media platforms - not quite Minority Report style (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bXJ_obaiYQ), but it can throw me Apple Store ads while it would know to throw my girlfriend Bath and Body Works ads! Pretty awesome!

Platypus TV (http://www.platypustv.com/) is a social television platform that timestamps conversations to television episodes.

buildPathways (http://www.buildPathways.com) enables students challenged by reading comprehension to use personal experiences to engage with reading material. Georeader (http://www.mygeoreader.com) is the first ever mobile travel guide, with “an installed database of thousands of U.S. historical markers and other worldwide points of interest. The phone’s text-to-speech function reads the text aloud as users drive by. It’s hands free and doesn’t interfere with the phone’s GPS navigation or music players. Best of all, users can create their own 200 word messages, “Talking Points,” and can make those entries public, private or friends-only. A filter allows users to hear information only on topics of interest to them. (http://www.insidegnss.com/node/2847)” Georeader won the 2011 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) People’s Choice Award and is on the top 100 Paid Apps list in the Apple App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/georeader/id530931738?mt=8).

PrintLure (http://www.PrintLure.com), featuring its product, YourLure, connects anglers and designers in an online community to create the next generation of fish-catching tools. These lures are special because they are 3D printed from digital files. Our online space will allow CAD designers to submit 3D printable lures for anglers to rate, download and order. We use feedback from anglers to improve lure designs and evaluate which submissions will be successful as scaled products. We give lure designers the tools they want to make higher grade, custom fishing equipment with less effort and provide the angling community with lures they deem worth fishing. Read more about them in "3D Printing: A Fish Out of Water (http://bit.ly/JMDffE)" on Ignite Upstate.
