Learn French - Peer learning

Toronto Reference Library

Learn French with the host who is also learning. We will use a combination of the book in the picture called, "Easy French Step-by-step" written by Myrna Bell Rochester, PhD and internet/phone app resources. This learning program does not follow a formal school curriculum, it does not include testing or certifications. The purpose of this program is to learn to speak, read and write French so that you can communicate with other people in French. Note: The host is not fluent in French, but she has 25 years of teaching experience in other subjects; hence the low cost to attend the meetups. If you are studying French somewhere else, this will be a good place to practice what you've learned there and potentially pass on some of your knowledge to the other attendees. *You will need to PURCHASE the BOOK mentioned above to attend the meetups as we will be doing the exercises in it. If you can't make it to a particular event, you will need to CATCH UP ON YOUR OWN as we will be progressing every week. $5 Meetup fee

Euchre Night - No exp. req. **PRIZES

Scruffy Murphy's

Come on and join in euchre night! We had a lot of fun last time! What's Euchre? Traditional euchre is a card game played by four people. You don't need any experience to play, the host and other experienced players will teach you; and you won't be on your own; you will have a partner to help you out. Only $5/person to play, PLUS your individual FOOD and/or BEVERAGE purchases ($10 minimum/person - a requirement of the venue) First place gets 25% of the money collected, 2nd place gets 10%. Although there will be prizes, the games are meant to be fun and friendly, not overly competitive. *Mix n Mingle 6:45-7:10pm. Assignment to teams and explanation of rules 7:10-7:15pm. Games start promptly at 7:15pm. *PLEASE INDICATE IN THE COMMENTS IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE. If you don't comment, the host will assume that you are not coming. *Also, please change your RSVP to, "Not Going" if you need to cancel so the host and other members are not watching out for you. "I look forward to seeing you there." - Tammy
