Monumap.com - How I built an API for free with serverless functions with Alexandre Rieux

Description:
Monumap.com is a map plotting the sites from the UNESCO world heritage list. The web app is driven by a cost effective API using AWS Lambda. I will walk you through the project architecture and explain how I used Serverless framework for the deployment while keeping an immutable infrastructure. Finally, I will speak about token verification with API Gateway lambda authorizer.

Speakers Bio:

Hasan Gani

Hasan is an SDET at Dunelm for 1.5 years with a passion for tech, quality and table football. When he isn’t pretending to be a developer, he likes to contribute to the reduction of office donuts and generally help everyone get better (worse) at table football :)

Antoine Colombier

Antoine is a dedicated, enthusiastic and hard working engineer and team player. When he isn’t busy playing online shoot em ups, he develops apps and (occasionally) does some awesome stuff for Dunelm :)

Alexandre Rieux

I am a Fullstack engineer, I worked with React and Node for the last 4 years. Lately I have been building Golang micro services on AWS for a startup. I am passionate about web maps and built a popular library called react-mapbox-gl, this passion for maps also led me to building monumap.com which I will talk about at the meetup.
