A Special TBIC Thanks-for-being-a-member treat this Wednesday night!

Details

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our inventors, creators and product developers!
On a normal year, we schedule the 2nd meeting in November off for the holiday but as this year has been anything but normal, this year TBIC is going to meet virtually on Wednesday night, 11/25 at 6:15!

I feel that our virtual meetings haven’t been quite as impactful as meeting in person even though we have had some tremendous guests join us. So I think at least one more extra meeting for the year is warranted. I will need to hear from our members soon if they also want to meet on 12/23 too.

Our speaker this week has been hugely successful and shares lessons learned in his books “How to Think like an Inventor” and “9 Obstacles all inventors will face - 19 Solutions”. From humble roots, Warren Wilson has achieved the dream of most inventors. He will join us on Wednesday and asks that you send me all of your questions about inventing so that he may address them. As for an introduction, I’ll let Warren speak for himself:

Hi, I’m Warren Wilson and I’d love to share with you the wonders and the joys of being an inventor.

Inventing has brought a LOT into my life. Experiences, people, wealth I could’ve never have imagined having. I’m very grateful and feel very privileged to be an inventor.

Inventing has allowed me to experience successes far beyond what I ever believed possible. I invented a child’s building block system, BetterBlocks, which went on to achieve $45million in sales. Unimaginable success for a broke reclusive guy working from a shed in his backyard! Inventing gave me the financial freedom to become a full time Dad for the 3 years after my daughter was born…To be able to do this was priceless!

The inventive process taught me about failure. How to “pick myself up” from the hopelessness of being bankrupt. How to recover from the heartache, or even the anger surrounding failed relationships, relationships that started of great, but simply didn’t work out!

But, and I think most importantly, inventing taught me the hidden value of inventions. It taught me how we can make a positive contribution to this world and the people who live in our world with us. My invention, BetterBlocks, brought a Son and his Dad together, to play together, for the first time in 4 years…Value?...Priceless!

Everyone is an inventor in their own way. My aim is to encourage that spark of inventiveness inside you to burn a little brighter. To make your life, and the lives of those around you a little happier and more successful.
Like any endeavor we do in life, there are always people who help and inspire us along the way. Without them we would never have achieved what we set out to achieve. They are often the people who are still by our side when life is not going quite to plan!

People like my Mum and Dad, who were both very creative people who loved me very much. They supported me in every way possible to become the inventor I was destined to be. It’s only as I have grown older, and hopefully wiser, I have begun to realise exactly how much effort and sacrifice they made for me.

My wife Karen, who encourages me, laughs with me and supports my “Hair Brained Ideas”

My daughter Sheena, who inspires me by the way she faces life and all its challenges head on.

Please be sure to join us this coming Wednesday for a special treat and visit WarrenWilsonInventor.com to learn more about Warren. RSVP to Join our zoom meeting starting at 6:15 Wednesday night!
Happy Thanksgiving!
