Looking for volunteers on Saturdays to host adoption events!
We have an adoption team that volunteers every Saturday from 11am - 3pm to help find homes for several adoptable dogs and cats at The Altamonte Petco. We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to help with the adoption process. The sooner we can adopt the animals out, the more animals we can help save. Please consider coming to visit our furry friends if you are interested in adopting, and/or reach out to our assistant organizer - TEARS President, Kris Buchanan [masked]) - if you are interested in volunteering. Even if you can only help one day per month, it is still much needed help. The schedule is typically made in advance so please contact Kris prior to the dates you would like to volunteer so that she can coordinate everyone's schedule and train new volunteers in advance. We also need help during the week stopping by Petco to clean, feed and look after our kitties!

What we're about

TEARS stands for Together Every Animal Receives Support. TEARS, Inc. is a volunteer driven, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, founded to support abused, abandoned and relinquished animals at the Seminole County Animal Services (SCAS) and other county facilities. Our mission is to work in unison with these facilities to improve both shelter living conditions and the quality of life for these homeless animals. SCAS is unique in that it must take in every animal brought to the shelter and provide it with food and basic medicine, regardless of whether or not it has the space or adequate staffing to care for the animal. With budget cuts becoming more common place as a result of our current economy, the shelter and the animals have fewer resources. What makes the outlook of these animals even bleaker is that the county shelter is not permitted to conduct its own fundraising to supplement the budget shortfalls like other rescue groups and public foundations are able to. It's because of this TEARS was formed. We hope that you will join our group to learn about our fund raising parties and events that you may attend socially, as well as to consider the options of helping with volunteering, sponsoring and/or fostering for the animals that desperately need medical attention and adoption.

Thank you for considering joining our TEARS family!

Warm Regards,
Fawn
