• Awesome Con 2019

    Walter E. Washington Convention Center

We are thrilled to be able to bring our Meetup to Awesome Con again for 2019. Awesome Con is an amazing multi-genre convention in Washington DC. It is personally one of my favorite conventions. There are always a large number of Harry Potter fans in attendance and with Jason Isaacs in attendance there are sure to be more! We will be there with our info table and Great Hall photo op booth helping to promote TGTSNBN and Harry Potter fandom. Will we see you there? RSVP and let us know! Also Awesome Con has provided us with our own discount code. Use code POTTERNYC to get $5 off your admission!

  • Wizards Invade the CT Midsummer Fantasy Ren Faire! (Joint event with HP-CT)

The Midsummer Fantasy Faire is a fantasy (non-historical) themed faire in Ansonia CT. It is A TON of fun, and has performers not seen in the Tuxedo Faire and their are less Muggles than other faires. The Ansonia Faire is 1.5 hours from NYC, only 30 minutes further away than the Tuxedo, NY Faire. So lets show Ansonia some Hogwarts love! HP Cosplay, Ren Cosplay, etc is not required but definitely encouraged! Start and end times are the formal times of the Faire. But I usually recommend arriving at Faires at least 30 minutes before gate opening. We will also hopefully be joined by some members of HP-CT! Please note that we will not have transportation available for this event. But please use the discussion section below to organize car shares or train shares! For more information about the Faire, visit its homepage: http://www.mfrenfaire.com/ IMPORTANT NOTE: This event is RAIN OR SHINE

  • MISTI-Con 2019: Wizarding Through the Ages

    DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tarrytown

UPDATE: The MISTI-Con 2019 FundRazr is now live! Check it out and contribute to the convention to get some cool perks and VIP badges! https://fundrazr.com/misti-con2019?ref=sh_66sTBa_ab_AnCrN8wA3sGAnCrN8wA3sG ---- From the Official Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/misticonorg/: -- Get your broomsticks ready! MISTI-Con 2019 is happy to announce our move to the Doubletree by Hilton in Tarrytown, NY on the weekend of July 18-21, 2019! This location opens some wonderful possibilities for us, and addresses many of the issues that we posted back in May: • The DoubleTree has 246 rooms so everyone who attends MISTI will be able to stay on site if they want to do so. • Tarrytown is within an hour of 4 major New York airports and is fully accessible by public transportation (bus and train) • The size of the facility is much better suited to the size of MISTI-Con (though MISTI will remain an intimate convention!) • The facility is much more accessible While we are so happy to make this announcement, the hotel will not take any reservations until 1 year prior to the convention, we will keep you up to date as to when that will be opening. • Annual TGTSNBN Trip to the New York Renaissance Faire!

    NY Renaissance Faire

Its our yearly trip to the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo NY!!! For those of you who need a way to get to the Faire, we are once again arranging a van. That will be handled by a different Meetup event. Please RSVP to BOTH if you are taking the van (which we will be charging a fee for). If you are not taking the van but still joining us, please RSVP to THIS event. We generally split up once we enter the Faire, as everyone has different things we like to see. But we always try to gather in the middle of the day for lunch, at the end of the day during the pub sing and we DEFINITELY gather for a group photograph. For more info about the New York Renaissance Faire check out their homepage here: http://renfair.com/ny/ SPECIAL NOTE: This corresponds with the Ren Faire's "Fantasy Saturday". "Immerse yourself in the magic and whimsy of Fantasy Day! Appear in your “true” form, be it dragon, wizard, superhero, or fairy." http://renfair.com/ny/special-events/
